#EndorseThis: Bernie Burns Trump For Reneging On Every Bipartisan Promise

Today’s clip is not devoid of pabulum. Before the end, Jake Tapper and 2016 Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders hit all of the usual notes. A new book is hyped. Tapper asks if he’ll run for POTUS again in 2020, and the politician doesn’t give a straight answer. Surprising!

But the first half of the interview is more interesting. Bernie runs down a list of President Trump’s campaign promises on popular bipartisan issues. Infrastructure? Passed by in favor of military spending. New and improved health care? Haw. Tax cuts aimed at the middle class? Hardly. If you count Trump’s stand-down proposal on prescription drug prices, it marks the administration 0-4 in keeping its word on issues Americans agree on.

If you haven’t felt enough of the Bern after the Trump discussion, keep streaming for the democratic socialist’s thoughts on Iran diplomacy and the Kelly Sadler – John McCain controversy. Bernie’s take is hard to argue with on either front.
